Thanksgiving

I believe thanksgiving is one of America’s most celebrated holidays. Why is this? Is it because of the food? Or maybe even the friends and family we get to spend time with? But something about this holiday always seems to bring a smile to someones face and I absolutely love that! My Dad likes to say, “Smile, it makes the world a brighter place.” And its true! If only we made more intention to smile, to make ourselves look happy. Even if you don’t feel happy, making an intention to be that way can help you get to that point of true happiness!

Thanksgiving is also known for the tradition of expressing our thankfulness and intention to stay thankful for our ancestral history. In, 1620 the pilgrims came to America in search of a new home, a new life of freedom. Most of us are here because of that. Indians and the pilgrims got together and ended up celebrating a fall harvest meal together. This meal/party lasted three whole days and they called it, “The First Thanksgiving”. Today, we still celebrate in order to remember our ancestral history.

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to share what you are truly thankful for. I think being grateful is something that is super important, Its easy to not always feel grateful. But it is necessary remind yourself of your blessings and celebrate what you do have. Not what you don’t. So this holiday think of your blessings and be thankful for all that you have and all that you can do. And…… All the ups and downs of life. These things have shaped your character, and can make you better. Look for the beauty in what appears to be ashes.
